Darawug Tibet Chang Co., Ltd is is located at Kiamusze Economic Development Area along the No. 318 national highway in Shigatse Prefecture. It mainly operates the business of product research, development, production and selling of barley wine. It is one of the leading enterprises at regional level in Tibet Autonomous Region which represents the realization of industrialization of agriculture and animal husbandry.
In order to meet the international standards for the food industry, the company has started to cultivate 600 mu of land as demonstration planting area to plant organic barley in Rinbog county from 2008. In accordance with the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System and GB/T19630 Organic Products Standards, it carries out standardized management and operation from planting raw materials to producing and selling barley wine, which has fully guaranteed the product quality and has also met the requirement of organic products.
Barley, a member of the grass family, is a major cereal grain. Barley grain has a long history on Qinghai Tibet Plateau, which could be traced back 3500 years ago. The main nutritional value of barley is B-glucan. According to the information provided by the Science Academy of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of Tibet Autonomous Region, barley contains the highest amount of B-glucan among all kinds of wheat crops in the world, which could be used to prevent colon cancer, lower cholesterol, prevent cardio-cerebrovascular disease and diabetes.
